Szaladják „Taikyo” István: Tus-fényképek
Opening Event: 2025. April 10. 19:00
“These images have a deliberate simplicity, as Zen teaches, the mountains are mountains, and the rivers are rivers. The images consist of two elements: the white space and the black-gray toned picture. The formative power is the white. The white space shapes the world, not the appearing world. The white, fundamentally radiant space is also the space of creation, of creation, and of consciousness.”
The exhibition showcases ink photographs created with a special technique that carries characteristics of both digital and manual methods. Some of the works were previously featured in the exhibition Taikyo: Journey with Hiroshige at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, but this exhibition presents several previously unseen images. At the House of Lucie gallery, alongside large-scale works—some reaching up to 3.5 meters—smaller versions of the series are also on display, highlighting how image size influences the viewer’s experience.
The exhibition is available for viewing from April 10 to April 24, 2025, by prior appointment.
