GANG LIFE IN LOS ANGELES by Robert Yager | EXHIBITION OPENING EVENT

Are you ready to travel to Los Angeles through the eyes of the photographer Robert Yager? Let’s meet at our gallery in Athens to see his perspective of the gang life there.
“This exhibition is about my long-term documentation of the “WestSide Playboys 13” gang of Los Angeles. Through this exploration, I delved into themes of identity, community, and the human experience.
It is an invitation to look at elements of power and camaraderie that draws kids into gangs. A unique kind of “family”. It’s documented without judgement or prejudice. My hope is to provide the viewer an opportunity to go beyond surface appearances, to see their authenticity, rituals, art, lifestyle and some of the consequences of adopting this lifestyle.”
