Daniele Mencarelli’s Poetic Comeback: A Night to Remember
After captivating both audiences and critics, Daniele Mencarelli made a poetic comeback, delving into the unspoken, abandoned, and irretrievable in his latest book, Of Lovers, not Heroes. In this work, poetry is embraced as an act of defiance.
On Thursday, May 16th, at 6:30 p.m., the House of Lucie on Corso Garibaldi No. 164 in Ostuni hosted an event by the Ostuni Book Presidium, where Mencarelli discussed his work with Maila Cavaliere. The anticipation for this event was palpable.
At the House of Lucie Ostuni, we enjoyed the presentation of Daniele Mencarelli’s latest work. Mencarelli, a poet, writer, and Netflix screenwriter, who won the 2020 STREGA Giovani literary prize for his book Everything Asks for Salvation, which inspired the 2022 TV series, captivated the audience with his new poetry collection, Degli Amanti Non Degli Eroi (Of Lovers, Not Heroes), exploring love in its most extreme forms. Maila Cavaliere did an excellent job leading the conversation. Thanks to Paola Cirasino and the Book Presidium for bringing another remarkable author to our venue.
