Maro Kouri

Maro Kouri is a Greek photojournalist whose career spans more than three decades and over seventy countries. Born in Sparta and raised in central Athens, she works as a freelance photographer, travelling mostly in Africa and Asia.

Her pictures focus on people, and especially on women: their faces, gestures and quiet strength across borders and cultures. She also shares her experience as a mentor, leading photography workshops for photographers from around the world.

Her exhibition Female Zorba – Women in the World opened at House of Lucie Ostuni in the presence of the artist, who also led a guided tour accompanied by performances by actresses Antonella Colucci and Daniela Caliandro.
