Francesca Galliani
Francesca Galliani is an Italian-born photographer who has lived and worked in New York for most of her career. She graduated in fine art photography from the Corcoran School in Washington, D.C., and in 1995 won the Kodak European Panorama Award in Arles.
Her favourite subjects are portraits, nudes and the urban landscapes of New York, which she often transforms with painting and collage applied directly to the print. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Milan, Paris, Berlin, Venice and Rome and published in books including Portrait of New Angola.
Her exhibition Change Is Coming at House of Lucie Ostuni reflected on the rapid changes we face, the uncertainty and shifting identities they bring, and the hope that things can take a different direction.
