LAND IN BETWEEN by Marianthi Efthimiou
ARTIST STATEMENT: Land In Between is an ongoing project. In this project I seek to create a world at the border between literalness and metaphor. Here, the natural landscape becomes a stage. Its anonymity offers a space where characters can unfold. It exists not only as a place, but also as a condition of escape—a release from the real. There, they immerse themselves in their quest to become what they desire. Yet along the way, they seem to change unconsciously, taking on a new form. In search of characters in a perpetual state of change, trapped in the in-between, I capture the familiar, whilst creating an uncanny world where change appears akin to deception.
