Nino Migliori
Nino Migliori, born in Bologna in 1926, is one of the great experimenters of Italian photography, with more than seventy years of visual research behind him.
In the years after the Second World War he photographed everyday life in Emilia and southern Italy in the neorealist spirit, producing street pictures of rare warmth and humour. At the same time he began working without a camera, creating images directly on photographic paper through light, heat and chemical reactions: oxidations, pyrograms and other off-camera techniques that made him a forerunner of experimental photography in Europe.
His exhibition Geographies of Humanity and Cosmic Abstractions at House of Lucie Ostuni brought these two sides of his work together and closed the first edition of the OFF – Ostuni Photo Festival.
